Merry Christmas!

Hello,

I want to wish you all a very Merry Christmas!! We woke up this morning to a white Christmas! I love having snow on Christmas day as long as everyone can have safe travels.

I wanted to share a quick post today showing you the hand sanitizer mini gift that I had mentioned in my last post. I made several of these for my mom to give to the girls at the physician's office. My battery died before I could take a picture of the inside. You can see what the inside would look like by clicking here. I used the Deck the Halls Designer Series Paper on this project. (I love this DSP!) All Stampin' Up! Designer Series Paper is double-sided.

Let me know if you have any questions about how this box was put together.

Missing In Action

Hello,

I just wanted to give you a quick update and apologize for not posting to my blog for the past week. As you all know, it has been very busy around here trying to get things ready for Christmas! I have had a couple of projects that I have been finishing up the last couple of nights. My mom & daughter have asked me to make them some of the hand sanitizer mini gifts. My daughter is giving them to preschool teachers and my mom is giving them to the girls at the physician's office. I hope they like them. My daughter picked them up last night and I forgot to take a picture of them, but hopefully when I complete the others this evening, I will take a picture and share it here on my blog. So....keep checking back

Winter Post

Hello,

Well...another very cold day here in Bedford today! I am so ready for Spring! Anyone else?? I will start off by apologizing for the quality of this photo. I took this picture of my card after I came home from work this evening and the sun had already gone down. My camera flash makes the Dazzling Diamonds on this card really shine. It is much prettier in person. This card was really quick and easy to put together minus a trail of Dazzling Diamonds everywhere. By the time I finished, I had sparkly pants, shirt and even socks. While I was getting ready for bed I even noticed sparkles on my face. Oh how I love Dazzling Diamonds!!

Here are the items used in this card:

Winter Post Stamp Set
Bells & Boughs Stamp Set
Crumb Cake Card Stock
Cherry Cobbler Card Stock
Very Vanilla Card Stock
Stampin' Up! Ink Pads
Stampin' Write Markers
Dazzling Diamonds
Scallop Oval Punch
Ticket Corner Punch
Victoria 5/8" Crochet Trim
Antique Brads

I am already in my flannel pj's and I'm ready to grab my blanket and my December Stampin' Success magazine and I will be set for the night. I look forward to receiving this magazine every month!! Have I already told you that I LOVE Stampin' Up! This is an awesome company! Awesome product and Awesome friendships.

I have been wanting to use this stamp set for a while, so yesterday I decided to add some ink to it. This stamp set is called: Artistic Etchings. There are 6 images in this set and it comes in wood mount or clear mount. The Designer Series Paper I used is: Love Letter. I used Basic Black 1-1/4" Striped Grosgrain Ribbon cut in half and frayed one edge. I added Sticky Strip to my card and then ruffled the ribbon on top of this. Another SU favorite I used were the punches: Ticket Corner, Scallop Oval and Photo Corners.

Birthday Invitation using Stampin' Up! punches

Hello Everyone,

I wanted to share with you what I have been working on lately. My Grandson's 3rd Birthday is coming up November 5th and my daughter asked me to make his birthday invitations. She was wanting his invitations to be a sports theme and I didn't have any sports themed stamps. (Shame on me!) This is something that I will be buying soon! We came up with this idea using Stampin' Up! punches. Oh, how I love Stampin' Up! punches!! The basketball was made using the 1-3/4" Circle punch, the baseball: 1-3/8" Circle punch and the football was made using the 1-3/8" Circle punch and then punched again making the football shape. Other punches used on this card are: Photo Corner punch, Scallop Oval punch and the Scallop Edge Border punch. The dots on the Pumpkin Pie Card Stock was made using the Perfect Polka Dots Embossing Folder ran through the Big Shot. (It was hard for me not to add any ribbon and fluff it up a little, but I had to keep telling myself that it was for a 3 year old BOY)

Let me know what you think! If you have any questions just ask!

Hand Sanitizer Mini Gift

Hello Everyone,

I hope everyone had a great weekend! I had a very busy weekend. Saturday morning I went to Hayesville to my Stampin' Up! Downline meeting. What a fun time we all have when we're together! After the meeting I headed to Bloomfield to pick up my grandson Braxton so that he could spend the rest of the day with us. My grandbabies always put a smile on my face! Sunday morning we headed to New Castle to spend the day with my husband's grandma. We had a great time!

I wanted to share this awesome project that I found on another Stampin' Up! demonstrator's blog. I totally cased this project from Kimberly Van Diepen. She is so talented! October was my month to bring all the supplies to create a make-n-take for our downline meeting. After finding this project I knew that this was what we were going to make. I have been thinking of all the different ways that you could decorate these. Wouldn't these be really cute to decorate with a Christmas theme and hand them out as a mini gift? I know I will be making several!

Here is what the mini gift looks like from the side: (Click on each image to get a closer look)

Supplies: Dark & Dreary Stamp Set, Wicked Cool Stamp Set, Basic Gray Card Stock, 1/2" Raven Lace Trim, Scallop Circle Punch, Circle Punch, Oval Punch and Basic Rhinestones.

If you have any questions about how this project was made, please let me know. It was very simple to put together.

Quick & Simple 3x3 cards

Hello Everyone,
I wanted to share a quick post to show you some really quick and simple 3x3 cards that I made. These type of cards would be great to have on hand for an unexpected Birthday, Get Well, Thinking of You, etc. These were made using a 3x6 piece of Card Stock, scored at 3" on the 6" side. Once folded on the score line, you are ready to decorate. Really quick and simple!!

On this card I used Crumb Cake and Rich Razzleberry Card Stock. (Love these colors!) I also used Crumb Cake and Rich Razzleberry Stampin' Pads. The "Just for you" stamp is from the Teeny Tiny Wishes stamp set. The flower is punched using the Boho Blossoms Extra-Large Punch.

For this card I also used Crumb Cake and Rich Razzleberry Card Stock. I stamped the images using Soft Suede & Rich Razzleberry Stampin' Pads. Stamp Sets used were: Pocket Silhouettes and Teeny Tiny Wishes. I love the new Dotted Scallop Ribbon Border Punch. Stampin' Up! has several punches to choose from. Let me know if you have any questions about any of the products used on these cards.

Aviary

Hi Everyone!

Wow....I have been a terrible blogger!! Sorry it has been a while since my last post. Life is so busy, which I am sure many of you would agree.

I am loving this weather that we have been having here in Indiana! I love fall and we have had a few mornings and evenings that have been perfect. We are really hurting for rain though.

Well, today's card is one that I cased from Kelly Birrell. In one of my previous posts, I talked about how we have a themed card swap at our monthly downline meetings. Kelly had brought this card as her swap and I just fell in love with it and knew it was something that I wanted to try. I did change the colors of cardstock and inks. "Thanks Kelly" for inspiring me to create this card! You can view her SU blog @ http://mysocalledlife-kjb.blogspot.com.

Check out SU's new 2010-2011 Idea Book & Catalog and the new Holiday Mini catalog by clicking on the catalogs on the sidebar of my blog. You can also view them on my SU website by going to: http://shellyraines.stampinup.net/. If you have any questions about today's card, please don't hesitate to contact me. I love sharing ideas!!

Thanks Card Swap

Hello,

Wow....it has been beautiful here in Indiana today! The temperature is upper 80's with a wonderful breeze. I hope it has been a great day in your area.

Today's card is one that I made for our monthly swap. The theme for August card swap was Thank You cards. I used Old Olive, Sahara Sand and Rich Razzleberry cardstock. The Old Olive is embossed with SU Finial Press Embossing Folder using the Big Shot. "Thanks" is stamped using the set Perfect Punches (120516). Then punched out using the Scallop Oval Extra-Large Punch(119856). The flowers were stamped using Greenhouse Garden stamp set (113824). Once the card was stamped I added the Flower Designer Brad (112579) and then using a Stampin' Write Marker and the Color Spritzer Tool (107066) I spritzed the ink over the card.

If you have any questions about any SU product or if you have any questions about this wonderful company, please don't hesitate to contact me. I would love to have you on my SU team!! Also, if you would like to get some friends together for a workshop, I promise that we will have a lot of fun!!

Elements of Style

Hello,

Wow...this weekend sure has gone by fast!! Yesterday we spent the afternoon at the Linton Park enjoying a family reunion with relatives on my husband's side. It turned out to be a great day!! After eating and visiting we headed back to Bloomfield and spent the night at my Daughter's house. My sister-in-law and her daughter from Kentucky also stayed the night and us girls stayed up talking and laughing until 3:00 am. I am beginning to feel it as the day goes by. But...I would do it again because we had so much fun!!

The card I want to share today is using the stamp set: Elements of Style. I just love this set!! It comes with 5 images and you also have the choice of wood mount (118611 $27.95) or clear mount (120045 $19.95) stamps. I used whisper white, basic black and rich razzleberry card stock. Basic black, and rich razzleberry inks along with brads, the modern label punch, scallop trim border punch and the word window punch.

If you have any questions about any of the products used on this card, please contact me. I would love to show you and your friends all about Stampin' Up! Call me today to schedule your workshop!

Happy Birthday!

Hello,

Today's post is going to be a short one. I want to share another card that I made 25 of to take and swap at convention. After getting to convention I was afraid this card wasn't good enough to swap. I love the colors in this card and I like the vintage look, but I feel like it is missing something. Any suggestions? Feel free to post what I could do to this card to make it for the better. If you have any questions about any of the products used in this card, please feel free to contact me at: sraines1107@att.net.

Stampin' Up! has a brand new catalog. You can view it by clicking on the idea book on my side bar. This new catalog is awesome!! I have a wish list a mile long!! Let me know if you are interested in receiving one of these.

I received so many great cards in return! This card was so fun to make, even after making 80 of them. I used one of my favorite Christmas stamp sets called Winter Post (#111780). This stamp set has 7 different images in it. For the background I used En Francais (#109521), I have used this background stamp on several projects. I also used 3 different punches: Jumbo Snowflake (#116628), Modern Label (#116630) and Word Window (#105090). I used an embossing folder and the big shot on the Old Olive card stock.

Call me today to schedule your workshop and we can get started on your Christmas Cards. Stampin' Up! has just came out with a new Idea Book & Catalog. My wish list is a mile long!!!! If you have any questions at all, please e-mail me at: sraines1107@att.net.

Thanks for stopping by today!
Have a great day!

Hello,

I hope everyone enjoyed their weekend. We had a really busy weekend. My grandson had a T-ball game Friday evening at Bloomfield. He received one of two game balls for doing so well. Saturday, we celebrated my granddaughter's 4th birthday at Mr. Gatti's. (It's amazing how fast the years fly by.) Then yesterday, my daughter that lives in Bloomfield had Father's Day at her house. We had a cookout and enjoyed the rest of the day just by relaxing and chatting with each other. All in all, we had a terrific weekend!

Today, I wanted to share another project using the Fancy Favor box die. I ran the die through my Big Shot and then added sticky strip to assemble the box. This was so easy to put together. Before assembling the box, I once again used the July Fourth stamp set. (I can't get enough of this set. I love it!) For the top portion of the box I used the Red, White & Blue Jumbo Wheel from Stampin' Up! I sponges around the edges of the box, then added Real Red 1/4" Grosgrain Ribbon. If you have any questions about any of the product used on this box, please contact me at sraines1107@att.net. You can also go to my SU webpage to view any of these items by clicking on the link on the sidebar.

Red, White and Blue

Hello,

Well, we made it through another week. I can't believe how fast the weeks fly by. My weekends even go faster. :(

The card I am sharing today is made using the July Fourth stamp set. This new stamp set is available May 1 - August 31. It has 7 images in this set. Just think of all the projects that you can make using this July Fourth set. I made this card to send out for the 4th of July. You could also use this set to make BBQ invitations or even use it on scrapbook pages. I love anything that is Americana, so I was really excited to see this set in the Summer Mini Catalog. If you would like to receive this catalog, just let me know and I will get one in the mail to you.

If you have any questions on how I put this card together, please feel free to ask me. I love sharing ideas with others!

Thanks for stopping by today!
Have a Great Weekend!

Fancy Favor

Hello,

Thank you for taking the time to visit my blog! Today I want to share a really cute box that I made with Stampin' Up! Fancy Favor bigz xl die. This is the first box that I have made with this die. Using the Big Shot from Stampin' Up! along with this die, you can create this box in a matter of minutes. I cut the Kraft card stock to fit the Fancy Favor die, then layer the card stock on top of the die and sandwich this in between the two extended cutting pads. Insert this into the Big Shot, crank the handle until it comes out the other side and Wah-Lah your box is cut out along with the fold lines. I used the Very Vintage Jumbo Wheel with Soft Suede ink to roll the image across the top of my box. I used Sending Love Specialty Designer Series Paper and the Scallop Trim Border Punch along the edge. I have been seeing these flowers everywhere on the internet, so I thought I would try to make one. I think it looks descent for my first try. This flower was really easy to make! I took Kraft card stock and Sending Love DSP and I used the Scallop Circle Punch to punch out 3 circles of each paper. I took each scallop circle and wadded it up in my hand. Then I unwrapped each scallop circle and layered each on top of one another. Using the paper piercer, I poked a hole through the center and I inserted a brad. I then scrunched up the scallop circles around the brad to resemble a flower. Use the paper piercer to make a small hole in the top front of the box and insert the brad with your flower.

This box was so easy!! Just think of all the occasions that you could decorate these for. They would make great wedding favors, baby shower favors, birthday party favors and etc. I'm sure that I will make several more. Please contact me at: sraines1107@att.net if you have any questions.

Elements of Style

Hello,

I hope everyone has had a great weekend so far. It has been a hot, but beautiful weekend here in Bedford. It is just amazing how fast a weekend can go by. I have been feeling kind of lousy the last few days. I don't know if it is allergies, sinus infection or what? Since Friday night I have almost lost my voice. (I'm sure that my family loves that!)

Today's card is using a new stamp set called Elements of Style. This stamp set has 5 images in it and is available in either wood mount or clear mount. I watercolored the image with SU ink pads and the aqua painter. I was almost afraid to attempt watercoloring, but with the aqua painter it is so easy. I'm sure that I will be using this technique a lot more on my projects.

Click on both cards to get a closer view. On the top card I used a SU marker and the Color Spritzer Tool to give a spattered look. I did not use the Color Spritzer Tool on the bottom card. Myself, I like the spattered look. After making this card and posting it, I thought it was lacking something, so I spritzed it with the marker and then took another picture to post. Let me know what you think.

If you ever have any questions on any of the projects that I post on my blog, please don't hesitate to contact me. Also, if there is a specific technique or project that you would like to see, just let me know and I will do my best to post it on my blog.

Elements of Style: wood mount #118611 $27.95 clear mount #120045 $19.95

Yummy Cupcakes...

Hello,

Today I want to share a card that I made for my great niece's birthday. Who doesn't love cupcakes? Am I right? This stamp set is called Crazy for Cupcakes. I stamped the cupcake image and cut it out, then I popped it up using SU dimensionals. I also added Dazzling Diamonds to the icing on the cupcake. If you like a lot of sparkle, then you will love Dazzling Diamonds. Also in this stamp set I used the noise maker and balloon stamp. I stamped these two images using VersaMark. If you have never used VersaMark before, you can achieve a watermark effect on you card using this pad. (If you click on the image of the card you can enlarge it to see this effect.) I also used SU Aqua Painter and SU Inks to color my image. I used the white Gel Pen to add my doodle dots to the card. Punches used were: Word Window Punch, Modern Label Punch and Scallop Edge Punch. (Gotta Love SU Punches!)

Sorry I haven't posted anything to my blog for a couple of days. My mom had to have a heart cath on Monday and I have been suffering from a sinus infection and I'm still not over it. :( My mom did receive good news Monday which we are all thankful for!

I have had a couple of you ask for catalogs and I apologize that I haven't got them out yet this week, but I will have them to you by the weekend!

Let me know if you have any questions about SU.

Thanks for stopping by today!
Have a Great Day!

Father's Day Card Swap

Hello,

Every month at our downline meeting we can sign up to be in a card swap. This month's cards were Father's Day. This is the card I came up with. I love this new motorcycle stamp! This is one of the new stamp images in the new Summer Mini Occasions catalog. You can view this new Mini catalog by clicking on the image on the side bar of my blog. This is the first manly type card that I have made. I am so glad that I ordered this stamp because I was starting to sweat thinking about what I could come up with for this swap. I am anxious to see what cards I get in return so that I can have more ideas to share.

Here are the items used in making this card: neutrals card stock, To the Nines Specialty DSP,
Motorcycle stamp, Teeny Tiny Wishes stamp set, Vintage brads, Soft Suede ink, Modern Label Punch, Word Window Punch, Snail Adhesive and Dimensionals.
